The Boulder Symphony Orchestra provides non-professional musicians from the community a place where they can play in a full symphony orchestra with a very ambitious repertoire. In addition, there is a chamber music series featuring not only guest artists, but also members of the orchestra.
The Boulder Symphony is a big supporter of the arts in Colorado and actively sponsors young composers. They are also involved in an educational program for budding musicians.
The Boulder Symphony collaborates with many choirs in the area, as well as a cooperative effort with several schools (students are greeters at concerts, hand out programs, etc.). Chamber music groups of the orchestra played in many local businesses for free during the holiday season.

It is an organization of amateur musicians that given their time and talents so that people in the Boulder area can have an affordable, live symphony experience several times a year. This symphony is primarily composed of volunteer musicians who put together a first rate performance at the First Presbyterian Church in Boulder. They also feature local soloists and composers, as well original works.
