Nancy Cranbourne has been teaching and performing in Boulder for over 20 years. She has elevated the quality of dance in Boulder by creating classes, workshops and performance for all ages, that serve the community across a spectrum from the beginning dancer to the top dance professionals in Boulder. With her energy and enthusiasm for dance and community she created the dance company 40 Women Over 40 (a company of women ages 40-75) which ran sold-out shows at the Dairy Center for the Arts for all performances in 2009. The dance community Nancy creates is an extension of who she is - passionate and deeply meaningful, with liberal doses of joy, humor and gratitude.

Nancy's latest dance production, called BOOM., will premiere at the Dairy Center for the Arts at the end of April, 2012. For this production, she is collaborating with local choreographer Linzee Klinkenberg and bringing together a company of 16 seasoned dancers (featuring 40 Women Over 40) and 16 up-and-coming younger community dancers.  BOOM. highlights intergenerational collaboration and artistic mentorship between younger and older dancers with work that explodes with athleticism, sensuality and revelry. BOOM. transforms what it means to be a dancer at any age and promises to be an exciting and dynamic evening that will inspire others to be their most passionate, best selves.

Nancy Cranbourne's mission is to bring jazz dance to ALL who want to participate, as well as to develop world class dancers. She offers classes for all levels and creates a dance family - a supportive, loving community for men and women to bring their passion to the table through dance. Nancy's vision is ever-expanding, taking off from her current collaboration with LInzee Klinkenberg to develop a film project about dancers over 50.  She is taking this work to universities around the country to promote intergenerational collaboration and longevity in dance.  Nancy supports the Boulder community by going into schools to mentor young dancers and by offering  sliding fees for classes. Those who love Nancy Cranbourne's dance call it "Vitamin C" the best boost in town!  She dances in a way that regenerates, is sustainable and has no waste, creating positive energy and elevated moods!!
