Boulder County Parks and Open Space Hikes for Seniors
Final Thursdays: Seniors get their own hikes the last Thursday of every month, thanks to Boulder County Parks and Open Space. The hikes run from 10am-noon, and include information on the area’s history, wildlife and resource management. Meet at park entrances. 303-678-6214.
- Dec. 29: Walden Ponds Wildlife Habitat Area
- Jan. 26: Pella Crossing Open Space
- Feb. 23: Carolyn Holmberg Preserve at Rock Creek Farm (meet at Stearns Lake parking lot)
- March 29: Agricultural Heritage Center
- April 26: Heil Valley Ranch Open Space (meet at group picnic shelter near Lichen Loop Trailhead)
- May 31: Betasso Preserve
Circle of Care
Circle of Care is an enrichment program that provides seniors with free transportation, companions, and tickets to community arts and cultural events. 303-449-8884.
Senior Centers
Senior centers offer older residents a place to meet other seniors and stay connected to the community with activities like day trips, classes, entertainment, support groups, fitness options, health screenings and meals. Check each center’s website for more details and a complete schedule.
