Boulder County Farmers’ Market Fine Arts & Crafts Fairs

Monthly: While you’re stocking up on produce and other local goodies at the Boulder County Farmers’ Market, check out the Fine Art & Fine Craft Fairs, juried shows that are held in conjunction with the market one Saturday each month. Next to the Farmers’ Market in Central Park, off 13th Street between Canyon and Arapahoe. 303-443-4053.

Boulder International Fringe Festival

Aug. 18-29: All unjuried, all uncensored, and all in Boulder, the sixth annual Fringe Festival brings in performers from all over the country—theater troupes, dancers, comedians, musicians, visual artists, puppeteers and much more. In 12 days, more than 300 performances are held at a variety of venues throughout Boulder; the show at each venue that sells the most tickets gets a chance to perform a special encore show on the closing night of the festival. C.R.A.B. (Constantly Risking Absurdity, Baby) sessions, held each night of the festival, are live talk shows where artists take the stage to talk about their work. Check the website for a complete schedule and more information. 720-563-9950.

"COLOR-ado!" Art Show

Sept. 3-6: The Boulder Art Association (BAA) and the Colorado Chautauqua Association present the third annual juried art exhibition at the historic Chautauqua Community House, September 3-6. This year’s theme is COLOR-ado! and entries will be juried by Polly Addison and Elizabeth Black. A reception and awards ceremony will be held Friday, September 3 from 6-8 pm. The show runs 12-8pm Friday, 10am-8pm Saturday & Sunday, and 10am-4pm Monday.

The association also sponsors the Young Artists Showcase each April and holds meetings, workshops and classes. Louisville Center for the Arts, 801 Grant Ave.

Lyons Outdoor Market

Saturdays: This popular hybrid of a fine-arts fair and a farmers’ market is held every Saturday in the summer from 10am-3pm at 446 Main St. in Lyons. The event also includes children’s activities and live music.

OpenArts

On January 1, 2010, the Open Studios organization became known as OpenArts. This name change is in recognition of our broader role in the arts and the community. "Open Studios" will continue on as the brand name for the premier fall event. The Board's decision to undergo a name change was the result of the acquisition of Clementine Studio, the Spring Art Fair and the Holiday Market. Suddenly, Open Studios was so much more than a fall artist studio tour.

OpenArts is:

  • OPEN STUDIOS FALL ARTIST STUDIO TOUR
  • THE OPEN STUDIOS SPRING ART FAIR
  • OPEN STUDIOS HOLIDAY MARKET
  • CLEMENTINE STUDIO
  • OPEN STUDIOS GALLERY @ REMBRANDT YARD
  • EDUCATION LINKS

In an effort to inform the public that all of these events and activities are owned and presented by one organization, it has became apparent that a new umbrella name is necessary. We hope you understand the need for this change and trust that we will continue to promote our events and activities with the familiar brand redundancy we all know and love.
