The Shortlist: 3/11-3/13

Forget all of the recent dark, windy, and snowy March weather; we’re happy to say that this weekend will take a serious turn for the better. Watch the dirty piles of snow melt away this weekend, as it’s looking like it’ll be 75 and sunny all weekend long! It’s time! The official beginning of Spring! Time for endless hikes, strolls through Pearl Street, and refreshing drinks outdoors. This weekend, Boulder has some exciting things going on out and about in town. Here are a few:

  1. Boulder Creek Clean Up

We LOVE Boulder! And that’s why it’s important to give back to this beautiful town that we call home. The spectacular creek that flows through Boulder needs some serious love, so join in on the fun as we get dirty to keep Boulder Creek clean! This fun yet charitable activity will consist of hoards of volunteers coming together at Rocky Mountain Anglers this Saturday to clean that creek up! There are prizes for the most unique piece of trash found, and a 15% day of discount at Rocky Mountain Anglers for all volunteers! Bring your boots and gloves if you have them; otherwise they will supply you with all of your cleanup needs. There’s even a BBQ and cookout to follow the clean up. This activity will make for a pretty nice Saturday outdoors. For more information on this event, click here.

  1.  Beautiful Junk Sale

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure! This Friday, the Action Center will host the Spring ‘Beautiful Junk Sale’ at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds! This wacky fair will feature 10,500 square feet of unique jewelry, collectibles, vintages odds and ends, sporting goods, holiday decor, and a vast array of household items. If you look hard enough through this massive collection of miscellaneous items, there will definitely be something for every member of the family! Admissions is $4 at the door for everyone 16 and older, but if you bring two or more non-perishable food donations you’ll receive $1 off admissions! For more information, click here.
