The Shortlist: What To Do in Boulder: 10/14-10/16

Happy Wednesday, Boulderites! There is a lot to do with CU Boulder’s Homecoming weekend and Boulder’s Oktoberfest both happening on the same weekend. Whether you are a fan of football, beer, food, music, dancing, or just fun, Boulder has a great weekend lined up. As they might say in Germany, lass uns gehen, Buffs!

1. Boulder Oktoberfest 2016

This Friday through Sunday will be Boulder’s annual Oktoberfest at Boulder’s Central Park. Boulder’s Oktoberfest is the most authentic German celebration you can find outside of Munich. There will be Polka music and dancing, bräts and other german cuisine, and a beer garden featuring Colorado’s finest breweries. Come get your Octobeer on this weekend!

2. CU Boulder Homecoming Weekend

The Buffs are back at Folsom this weekend to play the Arizona State Sun Devils, and to celebrate their homecoming weekend! Homecoming weekend has always been a spirited time for students, alumni, and the Boulder community to come together to cheer on the Colorado Buffaloes. The weekend will start off with an awards ceremony in the Glen Miller Ballroom on Thursday night. This will be followed by Ralphie’s Stampede on Pearl Street on Friday night for the homecoming parade. Lastly, there will be CU sanctioned tailgates all over campus leading up to Saturday afternoon’s big game. Come cheer on the Buffs!

3. Sunday Concert at the Library

After a jammed packed weekend of fun, use Sunday afternoon to slow down. From 2-3:30 pm you can enjoy the music of CU Pendulum under the direction of Hsing-ay Hsu at the Boulder Public Library. The CU Pendulum is a collective of all of CU’s best musicians from all departments. The Pendulum is known for their energy and creativity. Don’t let the Sunday scaries get the best of you – come enjoy some great tunes!
