Some dancing, some art, and some clean energy…great additions to your weekend!
1. International Dance Festival
Kick up your heels, because it’s time for Boulder’s best street dance—the 2016 International Dance Festival on June 24-26 at the 1300 block of Pearl Street in Boulder. This festival brings some of the best talent to the state and showcases many types of dance and music, with performances, dance lessons and an emphasis on participation.
A public square dance kicks off the festival Friday evening, and throughout the weekend are opportunities for beginners to learn easy folk dances, waltz, salsa, Zumba and more. The event also features a vendor area with handmade items and arts and crafts from other countries.

2. Youth, Truth & Talent Show
Celebrate the work of youth leaders from nonprofit Golden Bridge during a fundraising event from 7-9 p.m. on June 25 at the Dairy Center for the Arts, 2590 Walnut St. “Youth, Truth & Talent” will share various examples of young-adult creativity, including stories of peacemaking from youth living in war-torn countries; new music from artists Jeremy Roske and Meagan Chandler; innovative dances from Durban, South Africa’s Hannah Loewenthal and Vusi Makanya; original hip-hop, radical poetry; and song and stories from youth leaders from Uganda, India, South America, Kenya, and diverse places in the U.S. For details, visit www.bdanced.com/events/youth-truth-talent.
3. Community Energy Fair
The Clean Energy Action organization invites the Boulder County community to join it for the second annual Community Energy Fair from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. on June 25 at Central Park in Boulder. Right next to the Farmers Market, the fair will feature a slate of nationally known speakers, electric vehicles, organizations seeking volunteers, kids’ art activities, a Capture the Coal Plant field game, cookies baked in a solar oven, and more.
