City is exploring possibilities

Although Louisville’s famed Italian restaurant, The Blue Parrot, closed its doors in early 2017, the iconic, colorful neon sign that beckoned diners for decades will soon have a new home—but no one knows yet where that will be. For now, it’s safely in storage, though it could reappear at any time.
“We are just beginning to explore options for where it could be placed for public display,” says Lisa Ritchie, the city’s associate planner. “It might be the library, the rec center or the museum.” Share your thoughts on where it should be by tweeting to @BoulderMagazine and watch out for the bird’s return!
